Chittagong-- (UNB) – Two government shipping masters have been suspended for their alleged involvement in sending Bangladeshis abroad illegally.

They are Abu Yusuf and Zakir Hossain Chowdhury.

According to officials, Shipping Ministry on Monday constituted a three-member committee to investigate into the allegations brought against them.

They said the departmental action against the government officials came for illegally sending 20 Bangladeshis through MV Samara owned by Sunny Shipping Lines of Singapore from the Chittagong Seaport on Jan 2.

Police arrested the 20 Bangladeshi nationals and two other officials, including the MD of Sunny Marine Shipping Lines, from the MV Samara on Jan 2.
